In response to the initiative of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim AlKhalifa, Consort of His Majesty the King and the President of National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD) Consultative Council, ASRY launched a wide afforestation campaign across the entire company in an interaction with the national afforestation campaign “Forever Green” that aims at sustaining the development of the agricultural sector and expanding the green areas in the kingdom of Bahrain. 
ASRY’s Managing Director, Mazen Mohammed Matar has welcomed the National Initiative for Agricultural Development Secretary General, Her Excellency Shaikha Maram bint Isa AlKhalifa who was accompanied by a delegation of representatives of the (NIAD) where they have jointly inaugurated ASRY afforestation campaign which included planting a number of trees and shrubs in the company’s yard in the presence of members of ASRY executive management and employees.

“We are pleased to be a part of the national afforestation project “Forever Green” which comes in line with our ongoing commitment to the socially responsible practices” commented ASRY Managing Director. “Through this initiative we aim to contribute to preserving the environment by striving to expand the green area in our beloved kingdom, as ASRY is going to plant 1000 trees within its facilities”.
Mazen Matar added “we are keen to support the development and sustainability of the agriculture sector; such green initiatives would ultimately contribute to the realisation of the desired sustainable development”.

"Today, we have witnessed the quick response of the Arab Shipbuilding and Repairing Company (ASRY) and its support to the campaign. The response was a genuine and authentic model for fully aware national companies that seek to contribute to environmental sustainability and to the expansion of the green areas in the Kingdom. Such commitment reflects the growing environmental awareness that we need for the greener future of Bahrain.”

Trough such initiatives, ASRY aims at promoting the environmental preservation practices and raising awareness on the importance of the green initiatives in accordance to Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030 Objectives and United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals.

It’s worth noting that the national afforestation campaign ““Forever Green” seeks to plant more than 50,000 tress and shrubs across the Kingdom’s governorates on an area covering more than 70,000 square meters during the first stage that runs until March 2022. Correspondingly, ASRY aims to support the national campaign through planting 1000 trees and shrubs across the company’s premises.
